Ep. #139 Yesterday - Song of a Father Watching His Child Grow up: Audio Remastered

The 9th day of our trip was jam-packed: starting off the day at The Donut Mill in Woodland Park with Robin's mom, Teresa, and Rocky - then we spent some time in the surrounding areas, including Cripple Creek and Victor, Colorado. We got some treats from 9494: Gifts with Altitude, and Cripple Creek Candy & Variety. And we explored the town of Victor, where my great-great grandfather once
On our 8th day of our adventure, we did some hiking at the beautiful Seven Falls. Robin couldn't tackle the hike the last time she was there, but this time around, she was able to conquer it. We made it all the way to Inspiration Point, and after our long hike we ate at the delicious Restaurant 1858. You'll definitely enjoy it after a few hours of intense hiking. :-) We had a wonderful time in
During the 7th day of our trip I discover another small issue with our Rockwood GeoPro 19FBS camper: the window shades. The strip of plastic at the bottom of the shades is easily pulled off, and so I found a simple solution to the problem. Additionally, the screws and brackets holding the shades in place were doing virtually nothing where they were placed, so I fixed that issue, as well. I also
So on the 6th day of our trip, boondocking in Fountain, Colorado proved to be a little stressful: our internet connect was basically nonexistent and I discovered our WiFiRanger Sky4 does close to nothing to enhance the signal. The connection got better has the night went on, but I had to improvise in the meantime. Towing a Rockwood Geo Pro with a Honda Pilot Subscribe: http://... Check out our
The 5th day of our trip was our final day in South Dakota and we also said our goodbyes to Britty. We ended in Hot Springs visiting the incredible mammoth site found there. That was quite the experience. Then we began our trek to our next stop, Colorado. I also offer some good tips regarding gas mileage and how to avoid any potential problems transporting your generator. Towing a Rockwood Geo
On the 4th day of our trip, Jay, Candace and their family headed for home, and so it was just myself, Robin and Britty left to enjoy our last full day in South Dakota. We started the day by visiting Bear Country USA, recommended to us by Cory and Tiana. ;-) At first we weren't sure how much we'd enjoy it, especially Robin with her poor vision, but we ended up loving it. Definitely a place to
The 3rd day of our trip, we woke bright and early and jam packed the day full of memories. We went to the Black Hills and enjoyed Custer state park, Needles Highway, and of course Mount Rushmore. Then we went to Rapid City and played glow in the dark mini golf at Putz n Glo, and had dinner at the very stylish pizza place called "(kol)." Mini golf was fun, and the food at (kol) was fantastic;
It's only the 2nd day of our trip, but it feels like we've been on the road forever! After having to take a very long detour due to flooding, we finally arrived in Wall, SD in the late evening of September 13th. We met up with Britty and our friends Jay and Candace and their family. We did some window shopping at the Wall Drug Store, but the real fun was when we got to see the beautiful
The 1st day of our 12 week trip has finally arrived; we load ourselves and our animals up, and make our first stop in Ames, IA. We drop off our cat Samson with Tiana and Cory, and eat lunch at the Cafe Beaudelaria - definitely recommend eating here if you're ever in Ames. I thoroughly enjoyed their food and Long Islands. ;-) Next stop, South Dakota! Towing a Rockwood Geo Pro with a Honda Pilot
It's the day before we begin our 12 week long trip in our Rockwood Geo Pro 19FBS. We are very excited for the trip. I installed the weigh station app CAT Scale on my phone, and weighed in at the local station before heading out. I also give some other small tips in packing and organization. And we're ready to go! :-) Subscribe: http://... Check out our site: http://... Facebook: https://...
Also previous to our 12 week long trek across the U.S., I decided to finally check the brakes on my camper the first time since we owned it. Good thing I did! I give some helpful advice to those of you who are unfamiliar with campers, and want to know what's all entailed in a tow kit and what a brake controller should be. Subscribe: http://... Shortly before our 12 week long, cross-country excursion, I did an overall inspection of our new Rockwood Geo Pro 19FBS camper. I tested to ensure all major amenities and features were functioning properly and ready to go; water heater, air conditioner, heater - etc. There were some minor issues I needed to take care of, so I'm glad I did the inspection. In this video, I demonstrate how to install the LTE module for my camper's WiFiRanger Sky4 signal booster. Then I move right along to setting up my D-Link camera for monitoring the pets inside my camper while we're away. And finally, I work on the exterior security - for that purpose, I purchased the Reolink Argus 2, which I also express my first impressions of the system in this episode.
After considering all my options, I decided to go with a very simple and inexpensive solution to locking my camper batteries in place. I purchased a galvanized steel strip with holes, did some bending and cutting, sprayed it with some truck bed coating, and then just fit it all together. Gets the job done at a reasonable price. In this video I install a MicroAir EasyStart 364 RV Rooftop soft starter in my Rockwood Geo Pro's A/C unit. I then do some benchmarks to see how long I can run off of my Westinghouse Generator WH2200iXLT. I am extremely pleased with how everything is now working with this configuration. The EasyStart is a must have. Subscribe: http://... Check out our site: http://... Facebook: https://...
Robin, the girls, Cory and I all made it to the last day of the Iowa state fair this year. It was filled with lots of food, lemonade, reptiles, campfire cones with stale waffle cones, and thrills - Britty and I rode the infamous and terrifying Skyscraper. Cory got to record a liner for KIX 101.1. And we also enjoyed an $18 bucket of cookies. :-) It was a fun-filled day spent with the family.
